Pacaya Volcano
Hike across a volcanic landscape in constant transformation
What happens, hour by hour.
Pacaya Volcano offers one of Guatemala's most popular adventure experiences. Its accessibility and the sheer variety of its volcanic landscapes make for a hike that blends nature, geology and sweeping panoramic views toward other volcanoes and mountains across the country.
You'll walk forest-lined trails and cross extensive areas blanketed by ancient lava flows, terrain where every step reveals how volcanic activity has shaped the landscape over time.
Depending on safety and volcanic activity conditions, you may spot fumaroles, zones of residual heat and unique geological formations, the kind of details that make every visit its own distinct experience.
